Detailed service list

Practical support for cleaner working files.

Each service is focused on preparing, structuring, organizing, and documenting the working file using information provided by the client.

📁

Caseware File Preparation

I prepare structured Caseware files using client-provided financial figures, trial balances, schedules, and supporting documents. This includes setting up the file structure, importing or organizing the trial balance, mapping accounts, preparing lead schedules, and linking supporting documentation where required.

This service is designed for accountants, finance teams, and businesses that need clean, organized working files ready for review.

Trial Balance Mapping

I assist with mapping trial balance accounts to the correct reporting areas, lead schedules, and financial statement sections. This helps ensure that balances flow correctly through the working file and that unmapped or unusual accounts are clearly identified for review.

This may include account grouping, mapping checks, balance classification, and a summary of items requiring attention.

Lead Schedule Preparation

I prepare lead schedules in Caseware or Excel using the financial figures provided by the client. Lead schedules can be prepared for areas such as cash and bank, receivables, payables, fixed assets, loans, revenue, expenses, accruals, prepayments, and equity.

Each schedule is structured to make the figures clear, traceable, and easier to review.

Supporting Document Linking

I organize and link supporting documents to the figures presented in the lead schedules. This may include invoices, bank statements, loan agreements, fixed asset documents, debtor and creditor listings, reconciliations, and other supporting files.

The goal is to make the working file easier to navigate and reduce the time spent searching for support.

Excel Working Paper Files

For clients who do not use Caseware, I can prepare a structured Excel working paper file. This can include a trial balance tab, mapping tab, lead schedules, supporting document references, query list, and summary pages.

This service is useful for small businesses, finance teams, or accountants who need a clean working file outside of Caseware.

Review-Ready File Cleanup

I help clean and organize accounting files before they are reviewed by a manager, accountant, auditor, or business owner. This may include updating lead schedules, checking references, organizing documents, removing duplicates, highlighting missing support, and preparing a list of outstanding items.

The result is a cleaner, more structured file that is easier to review.

?

Query List / Missing Information Schedule

I prepare clear query lists showing missing documents, unsupported balances, unmapped accounts, unexplained differences, and items requiring client or accountant review.

This helps keep the review process organized and makes it easier to follow up on outstanding information.

Scope of Work

Preparation support with clear boundaries.

Services are limited to accounting file preparation, trial balance mapping, lead schedule preparation, supporting document organization, and financial data support.

I do not provide audit opinions, independent reviews, tax advice, statutory compliance services, legal advice, or accountant sign-off.

Final review, approval, and responsibility for the financial information remain with the client or their appointed professional accountant.
